The Ray Bradbury Minute

With October here now we have a change of season, a change of weather, a change of pace.

I like to think of it as a roller coaster nearing the top of the tallest hill on a track to a rollicking holiday season.
The crazy viewpoints,
the tears,
the useless gifts,
I love everything about it.

The hot summer days have given way to hot autumn days.
Santa Anas are blowing everything from leaves to skirts and fanning fires with cold, dry air.
I have been fighting a virus like a boxer fights a frivolous lawsuit (this should be over by now).

For comfort I wake up very early and,
at 4:51
I celebrate Bradbury time.

This is his season. This is his imagery. Well, really, not this. His is much more Midwest. This is Socal. But he's here and he is the boss. His writing changes my perception of reality. His memes take hold and I see lush lawns and friendly neighbors-and martians. (They're all around.)

At the next 4:51 I have a beer.
I toast Ray, "Live Forever!"

Definitions Defined

These posts serve only to start the conversation. We try to get the definition going, in the right direction if there is one. Irony is being used here to catch the reader of the headline.

Much wine drunk since last we toasted-
Much time passed since last we posted.
